RHÔNE VALLEY
With the Northern Rhone mostly planted to Syrah, and the Southern Rhone dominated by Grenache, the Rhone valley is a major producer of red wines, and yet can still make some powerful, profound, ripe, and age-worthy whites.
The reds from the Northern Rhone can be smoky, show ripe blueberry, plums, figues, be medium to full body and always complex and fascinating.
The reds from the South are more generous, the smooth Grenache will bring a wide variety of fruit ripeness, you could have tart, ripe, and raisined fruit characteristics in the same bottle!
